This week the children have been investigating ‘Under the Sea’. There were lots of good suggestions from them for names of underwater creatures. They have all joined in with dancing to ‘watery’ music whilst pretending to be crabs, puffer fish, eels, little fish, big fish and of course, sharks! Ask your children about the new Jellyfish song they have been singing this week (you can find the words on the Quick Links Section of our website, if you would like to sing along too!) We had a lot of fish cut out of card for them to glue and stick with whatever they liked (free art) this has proved popular and we have had some fantastic individual creations. Children have also had the opportunity to make a shark hat and a recycled CD fish; some of these have been displayed on a screen. Pauline’s persistence on ebay has paid off and we are now the proud owners of an Octonauts Octopod complete with Captain Barnacles, Kwazii Peso and Gup A! Lots of role-play games using the trampoline as a boat and being rescued from sharks in the water too! Outside the game continued using the climbing frame as a safe place and the blue safety surface as the sea – really glad we made the decision to have the blue area when the surface was laid! Next week… Chinese New Year, as always we welcome anything brought in from home.
