What a glorious week of weather, sunshine all the way! Thank you for remembering to apply sun protection before the children arrive at Pre-School and for sending them in with sun hats for use throughout the day. We try to spend as much time as we can outside as well as having breaks away from the sun during the hottest part of the day. Great excitement this week when we had a lorry from Groves Builders deliver 20 bags of play sand to top up the sandpit in the garden, lots of assistance from the children opening the bags and spreading the sand out and lovely play afterwards using guttering and all the new, colourful buckets and spades! We have also had the first use of the paddling pool with much hilarity, jumping in and out and slipping and sliding around! The children have helped to paint an allotment vegetable display board for the hall, lots of carrots, peas & tomatoes created as well as some very painty hands! Fresh fruit flapjack was made by the children at cooking club, the smell coming from the kitchen was lovely, the children follow instructions to make the food all by themselves and even do the clearing away and washing up afterwards! We start back after half term with the charming topic of ‘The Disgusting Sandwich’! Hope you enjoy the holidays everyone – don’t forget to post photo’s on Tapestry. xx
