Nocturnal

This week we talked about the evenings getting darker earlier and started to investigate what it means to be ‘Nocturnal’ – some of the children could name some nocturnal animals. Thank you to everyone who brought in items to support this topic, it was much appreciated. We had lots of play in dark dens, using torches to light our way. We now have wind-up torches outside too and these get used a lot under the tree where it is nice and dark! Some of the children made ‘splatter bat’ pictures where lots of paint was splattered into hair, face, clothes as well as where it should have been too! We also decorated some guinea pig cut-outs which ended up looking quite ‘retro’ and spoke about how we look after the Pre-School guinea pigs, Percy & Timmy. We also made them some homemade GP treats.
