Keeping Healthy

As part of our learning about healthy eating the children were shown lots of different kinds of fruit and vegetables, we talked about how they grow and why they are good to eat. We asked them what they liked to eat that was healthy. They then tried some different vegetables, some with dip, to see which they liked the best.  Each day the children are offered milk or water at snacktime, thanks to everyone who now sends plain water in a bottle for their children.  The children now know to place their bottles on a special yellow table, they  can reach it and help themselves throughout the day as well as having it at lunchtime on their table.  We held a small competition throughout the week to see which ‘side’ drank the most water, each side putting stickers onto an image of a bath to ‘fill’ the bath.  The focus on healthy eating continues after the holidays.
