Ascott Pre-School were honoured when the Queen found time in her busy schedule to visit us on her 90th Birthday! She was guest of honour at our tea party and joined the children in enjoying some delicious food, we think her favourite was the hula hoops. The children were primed for her visit and had made crowns for everyone to wear and bunting to hang. When asked what they thought the Queen would like for a present, there were suggestions of crowns, bracelets, jewels, necklaces and a rather more individual suggestion of an escalator! We all sang Happy Birthday to the Queen and enjoyed homemade Victoria sponge (thanks Sally P). The party finished with a speech from the Queen who declared that Ascott Preschool was “The best Pre-School in all the land!”
