Wednesday 9th September was our first Forest School session. We walked down the Lane over the road from the Hall-there was lots to see – the leaves on the trees were green and brown-we talked about the leaves dying off in Autumn time, so please keep an eye out for this! There was discussion about keeping safe by the road and what is ok to pick i.e. black blackberries and NOT other berries which are for birds/animals. Along the path new big pipes are being laid – we saw a huge digger & Sally spotted on our return-that it had moved, as it was facing a different direction!
Looking along the lane we saw only a few black blackberries-mostly still red & green-not quite ready to pick just yet! Maybe when you are out & about over the next month you could look out to see when the blackberries are ready & pick a few for snack at Pre-school. Several trains passed by as we walked along the Lane, do ask your child if they were slow or fast?
We saw the darkness at the end of the path………then walked through it……..over the magical bridge, played hide and seek, followed the path to an enormous field………….then it was time to return for lunch- a good beginning to Forest School!
