Glue, glitter and all things sparkly! The children enjoyed the freedom to explore the Christmas stampers, stickers and glitter and made a variety of decorations this week. Everyone had a chance to do some Christmas cooking and we enjoyed some new stories including ‘The Smelly Sprout’ – I hope this hasn’t put them off sprouts! The culmination of the term was the Christmas Party and the children arrived very excited in their party clothes – dresses, Christmas jumpers, sparkle and even a bow tie. After the games and party food we waited for the arrival of Father Christmas and one child told me she had “been good for 100 years”. Some jingling bells signalled that he was about to appear and there were a few anxious faces. One child boldly asked “where are your reindeer Father Christmas?”, others needed a member of staff to sit on. Everyone had a present and there were lots of smiles and happy faces. Those who had to wait until nearly the bottom of the sack were very patient – well done. We said “thank you” and off he went to visit other children.
Happy Christmas to all.
