Ni Hao,
This week Pre-School celebrated Chinese New Year; we are leaving the Year of the Rooster and moving into the Year of the Dog.
The role-play area was set up with a Chinese table cloth, dishes, spoons and of course, chopsticks with lots of different types of Chinese play food & menus. Children have been very busy in this area all week.
On the craft front those children who chose to made a Chinese dragon, colouring in the head and tail before attaching the folded body.
We’ve listened to music and watched some Chinese dragon dancing on the computer and then reenacted our own dance.
Of course, we couldn’t have Chinese New Year without tasting some scrumptious Chinese food… we ate some lovely noodles, honey biscuits and prawn crackers were enjoyed by all (well mostly all!)
