We continued our Autumn theme this week, looking at a variety of vegetables and using them to make vegetable soup. Some of the children were very proficient using a knife and all enjoyed ‘having a go’. In case they couldn’t remember when they got home the vegetables we used were – leeks, carrots, parsnips, potatoes and sweet potatoes. One child suggested a “gold carrot” when I held up the parsnip! We also had a hedgehog theme running through the week making them with playdough, clay and bread rolls. The children snipped spines in the dough with scissors – this may not have been obvious once they were cooked! We have been working on listening in a group, using indoor voices and sharing and have had some excellent singing. They are learning a few new songs and rhymes and are always keen to sing them again and again.
