The outdoor climbing frame was brought into Tiddy Hall and the children helped to create the ‘Isle of Blowyernose’ complete with a ‘Flum Flum Tree’ beside it! The children (and staff) have absolutely LOVED this Julia Donaldson book and it has become a firm favourite. We have heard that there have been many requests for it at the Wychwood Library – so many thanks for extending the topic with your children at home! Throughout the week we have seen fantastic role-play helped along with props such as pirate dressing up, a dinghy & real life-jackets as well as face paints to create the same condition that Grannie had – ‘the moozles!’ – the children also enjoyed acting the story out as a play and a cooking activity to make a Flum Flum on a stick.
We now have a new Jack & the Flum Flum Tree display on the Welcome Board where the children stick their names – they have been contributing items to this throughout the week so do take a moment to look at their hard work! Altogether now, join in with the repeated refrain… “Don’t get your knickers in a twist!” said Jack, “Let’s have a look in the patchwork sack!!”
