This was our first time for the Forest School group – they all got sorted putting on our great new waterproof trousers with their wellingtons, then off we went! We walked down the Lane – crossing the road safely – we felt the rough wall and then the smooth telephone pole – talked about safety along with keeping safe when outside.
Saw cows & sheep in the distance, blackberries close by. There was wonderful chat about blackberries – how they were cooked at home – who they had picked some with within their own family. To our surprise quite a few trains went by while walking down the lane – we spoke about the different directions that the trains went past us, as well as the high-speed they were going!
We had snack, then collected some treasures to put in our home bag – some had a few, others were bulging! We crossed the bridge and then went from under the canopy where it was cool, out into the sunshine – we all closed our eyes lifting our faces up to the rays – lovely! Picked blackberries for the following days snack and then it was time to head back. There was constant chatter about colours, flowers and the environment – delightful. Once back at the Hall, all the children were ready for their lunch, which they ate hungrily, telling the adult they couldn’t wait for their next ‘Forest School’ trip!!!
